Bea Foster has lived in Orange County since 1963. For the last 24 years she has been teaching at Santa Ana Unified School District and Rancho Santiago College. Semi-retired, she still substitutes for Santa Ana. As a community activist, she served on the board of O.C. Community Housing Corp. as member and Treasurer; was a Common Cause Coordinator; was president of her community college teachers union; chaired the Committee to Incorporate North Tustin; was elected to the county and state Democratic party; and ran various political campaigns including her own Congressional run in 2005; was active to end political corruption in Orange County in the Tin Cup Campaign; was a former active member of the League of Women Voters; and is president and founder of the California Peace Academy, a non-profit educational organization.
