Candidate for
Council Member; City of Fullerton

I was born in La Porte, Indiana, during the Depression. My childhood years were spent in the South; moving to Texas at age 13. I began working and paying into Social Security at age 11, learning about the work ethic at an early age. I was an honor student in high school, the University of Texas, and medical school. During my senior year of medical school, I was commissioned an officer in the United States Air Force. In 1962, I was selected as the USAF's Flight Surgeon of the Year. While still in my 30's. I was nominated for full Colonel and transferred to Travis Air Force Base where I headed Plastic Surgery Services. During this time I operated on Vietnam casualties and ex-POW's. I have always been proud of the service I was able to provide these courageous Americans.

In 1977, I retired from the Air Force and moved with my wife, Norma, and our two children, Rich and Kathy (who are now married; Kathy is the mother of our two grandchildren), to Fullerton where I established a successful plastic surgery practice. I served two terms as President of the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons. During the past 31 years, I have demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to my profession and my community. I have supported many civic and charitable organizations in town, served as a Rotarian and member of the American Legion, and as President of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce in 1995-96. I was honored to be named the Fullerton "Man of the Year."

In 1996, I was elected to the Fullerton City Council and was twice elected Mayor. I am running for re-election to the Fullerton City Council because I care about my community and believe I have provided the conservative and thoughtful leadership needed. I have no ax to grind or special interest group to appease, just a steadfast commitment to do the best job possible. Re-elect me on the basis of my integrity and Fullerton's success.
