Council Member; City of Fountain Valley

Philosophy

By attending most city council meetings over the last six years I recognize the need for new ideas, common sense, and consistency in the decision making by our City Council

After proudly serving the City of Fountain Valley for more than 28 years with the Fire Department, my career gave me the opportunity to gain valuable insight into city operations, management, the budget process, emergency and disaster response, and customer service.

I believe my public service experience, education, community involvement, and desire to represent all Fountain Valley residents and the business community in a fair and respectful manner provides me the foundation to make sound common sense decisions required as a councilmember. I am a fiscal conservative who believes in supporting and keeping our essential services at a high level, balancing the budget without raising taxes, and planning for sustainable economic growth and the future success for our city.

My vision for Fountain Valley requires a more business friendly atmosphere that includes revitalization of our aging shopping centers, relaxation of a restrictive sign ordinance to help stimulate local business, yet preserving our neighborhood qualities. Additionally, I recommend that the City re-evaluate areas zoned in the 1960's and plan for development along the 405 Freeway and Santa Ana River area to promote business opportunities and exposure that would create jobs and produce sustainable revenues for city services we enjoy today and into the future.

I pledge my integrity, family values, strong work ethic, and dedication to make sound decisions based on facts, your input, and what is best overall for Fountain Valley and not whether it affects me personally or special interest groups.
