Candidate for
Council Member; City of Mission Viejo

I have been a resident in Mission Viejo for 19 years. I am 49 years old and work as an accountant at a small internet company. I live with my husband, Andrew and three sons, Eric 19, Chris 17, and Jeff 15.

I have spent 15 years volunteering in my children's activities from pre-school to high school, various sports clubs and Boy Scouts - serving on executive boards and in other leadership positions.

As President of the PTO, I vowed to bring an updated computer lab for all students to learn WordPerfect, keyboarding, and Power Point. The school district said I needed a 5 year plan, I said "Sorry, I only have a 2 year term." They said it would be impossible to raise that much money and complete such a big project within 2 years. I was relentless and successful. I received the Saddleback School District Certificate of Appreciation Award in 2000 and 2001 for my achievements.

As a volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America organization, I not only volunteered at the local level as executive member, earning the Extra Mile Award in 2000, but as a District Representative as well. For my successful fund raising campaigns, I earned the District Award of Merit in 2004. I was also an executive member for the South Mission Viejo Little League, MVHS Wrestling Team, and MUN (Model United Nations).
