I began my life here when I attended UC Santa Barbara as an English major. I graduated in 1992 but not before meeting my wife Kathy in the dormitory on campus during my Junior year. We were married the next year in 1993. After graduating, I was fortunate enough to be hired by Merrill Lynch in December 1992. In 1995, I became a full Financial Advisor and have practiced locally at this firm ever since. My wife and I have two beautiful daughters. We moved into this excellent district over 6 years ago so our eldest could attend Kindergarten at Hope School. She is currently in 4th grade and our youngest is in pre-K, impatiently waiting to attend with her sister next year. My wife taught K and 2nd grade at Canalino School in Carpinteria for 5 years and has stopped for the past 5 years to help raise our daughters. She still volunteers in the classroom and has also served on the PTA in the past. I have been involved with our schools in several ways. I am currently the Financial Secretary for the PTA and also a member of the executive committee. I also currently serve on the Hope School Site Council, a public and school group that shapes the goals of the school and must approve the categorical items of the budget. Finally, in the Spring I served on the District Budget Committee, whose purpose was to come up with various solutions to the very tough budget cuts handed down to each school from the state. I look forward to doing a great job for you as a member of the board! |
