I STAND FOR CHANGE!

My Priorities Are:

END YOUTH VIOLENCE
Children are failing in OUR school district. When our children feel like failures they disconnect from schools and reconnect with other peers that feel the same way. This Cycle leads our kids into Youth Violence and to the ultimate distress of our families.

Providing curriculum based off of the Surgeon General's Report, we could re-connect our youth back into Schools; giving our children lifelong success!!!!

CLOSE THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP
We must evaluate all existing programs. I will re-allocate funds from programs that no longer work to help our kids succeed in academic achievement. I will put our KIDS first. I will implement 21st century co-curricular professional and individualized programming so that our failing children succeed.

It is NOT OK that disadvantaged students are NOT better off in our high schools than they are in the poorest of schools in Los Angeles. This is Santa Barbra we can do better.

RESTORE TRUST IN THE SCHOOL BOARD
Bond money must be spent only for purposes approved by voters.

$5,000,000 accounting errors should not be tolerated. All Finances must be understandable to the community WE serve.

When we do not involve our community in practical brainstorming for solutions, we disconnect form those we serve.

We must Re-connect with parents, teachers, and youth, giving them a voice and involving them at all levels in our school district

RE-INVENT VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS
As part of our co-curricular programming we must provide Vocational Training. It is not acceptable that our youth graduate from High School and feel like they are not ready. Vocational Training should be combined with solid academics.

INDIVIDUALIZE EDUCATION
Each child is unique and deserves attention and assistance according to his or her needs. Every student needs to feel that someone at school cares and that they will succeed.

We must continue to monitor and observe special needs programs and curriculum to insure that even the most vulnerable of students feels successful.

VALUE, RESPECT & REWARD TEACHING
Administrators should not get nearly 200,000 a year While our teachers are over burdened and receive layoff notices. In order to keep GOOD Teachers Education must come FIRST!!!!
