Cecilia was born and raised in Chile, but in 1974, during the Pinochet dictatorship, her parents sent her and her brother to the care of an uncle in California. Here she entered college, earning a PhD in Chemistry from U.C. Berkeley. She married Christopher Gudeman in 1983 and they have 2 wonderful children ages 21 and 23. Her work career focused on high tech companies in Silicon Valley where she acquired experience on strategic product development, managing resources, meeting deadlines and technical marketing. After her children were born she took a brake from the career path to become a part time Mom and spent time teaching college level chemistry at local community colleges. After 17 years of living in Los Gatos she and her husband moved to Santa Barbara County in 2005 and to Lompoc in 2006. They both hold positions at local high tech companies in Goleta.
