Michael Emerson, an American and California Medical Board Certified Optician, has been caring for the visual needs of this district for 22 years as owner of Hart Optical Company and involved in healthcare for 32 years. Let there be no misunderstanding, Grossmont Hospital belongs to YOU . It is one of the crown jewels of our district. My pledge to you is to keep it protected and ready to serve you. As Chairman of the General Obligation Bond Committee, I have been overseeing the development, expansion and modernization of Grossmont Hospital. As Chairman of the Investment Committee, I am watching to make sure your tax dollars are safe and protected during this turbulent investment economy. I can report, both are going very well! My goals are to see the completion of the Emergency Department 90 bed expansion, begin the renovation of the East Tower and update the hospital's technology. I will also continue to support educational and vocational opportunities to help alleviate the shortage of healthcare professionals caring for our seniors and children.
