Attended Fremont and Hillview Schools

Earned a BA in Landscape Architecture from Cal PolyPomona and a Masters of Landscape Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard.

Served on the MP Environmental Beautification Commission, responsible for the design oversight of the Downtown Redevelopment project; Willow Rd landscape median project; and Street Tree master plan. As Chair of EBC, Rick oversaw improvements to Willow Oaks, Fremont, Kelly, and Nealon Parks, and city improvements to roadways including Willow and Sand Hill Roads.

Served on the Business Round Table,Hiring Interview Panel, Consultant Interview and Selection Panel, Task Force to Streamline the Commercial Building Permit and Zoning process.

Current member of the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors. Served as Chairman from 2004+05. Reviewed the Derry Project, Rosewood Hotel, Safeway, Grade Separation, Gateway 2020, Downtown Parking Structures, General Motors and more. Serves on the Executive Board and as the Chair of the Connoisseur's Market Place.

Pro bono landscape design for MA High School

Volunteer with ReBuilding Together (was Christmas in April), a partnership to rehabilitate homes and community facilities for lowincome homeowners.
