As a Ravenswood City School District Board Member, I will make the following issues my priority:
Increase Student Achievement
  • develop parent participation policy
  • partner with community to develop student mentor program
  • provide specific direction to teachers around the use of data and best practices
  • empower administrators to make site based decisions around curriculum and instruction

Improve Staff Retention
  • cultivate leaders from within RCSD
  • allow for site-based hiring
  • use data to understand why staff come and/or leave RCSD
  • develop community awareness training for new hires

Implement Effective Board Practices
  • establish positive working relations with all stakeholders
  • develop calendar of community town-hall sessions to address concerns of the community
  • work with members on strategic plan to exit RSIP require professional development for board members
