Healdsburg is Home I am a third generation Healdsburg resident, and a graduate of Healdsburg High School, Santa Rosa JC and Sonoma State University. My grandparents came to Healdsburg and raised prunes when it was known as the "buckle of the prune belt." Growing up I was very active in FFA, and school government. The son of a police officer, I know the importance of supporting our police and fire departments. Community Service Over the last several years I have been lucky to have the opportunity to help with many of the issues that are important to Healdsburg. I am honored that the community elected me twice to the Healdsburg School Board as one of the youngest elected officials in California history, and then to the City Council. Experience in Education In addition to being two time School Board President, I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve Healdsburg through several other groups and activities. Together we built a coalition that supported quality schools and safe playing fields with the passage of Measures G and H. During my tenure we started a youth advisory council and elected a student School Board member. I have also served on the Community Center Committee fighting for parks and recreation opportunities, and been a longtime member of the Healdsburg Education Foundation where we have provided opportunities for hundreds of our local students. With my friend Lisa Licea, we have awarded and funded a high school scholarship for the last six years. I have volunteered with the United Way, Little League, and the effort to save Healdsburg Hospital. Business Support I am happy to be part of the Healdsburg community, and have become a member of the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce, and an active member of the Healdsburg Rotary. I know the importance of our local business leaders and the need for a thriving economy. |
