Dawn Mittleman (Board President) and Vice-President Brunton and I make a cohesive team, along with members, Jarett and Greben.A good working cooperation amongst the board has enabled us to progress and move the Fire Department into the 21st Century. We are developing a business plan and strategy for the future. We are using G.I.S. computer technology to analyzing our department's emergency responses and to determine the optimum locations for firehouse sites. The Fire District is fiscally solvent and healthy while still being able to buy new apparatus. The Board Members have supported the Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Sonoma to continue the enhanced service that we enjoy. The Fire District Board was able to select an excellent choice for our new Fire Chief, Phil Garcia. The Firefighters' Union, Chief Officers, City Council and community leaders were included in the selection process. The high morale of the uniformed Fire Department members is an indication of an effective Board of Directors that works well together |
