State Representative; District 95

My political philosophy is based on the U.S. and State Constitutions whereby our country was established with a government of, by, and for the people. We ignore the principles of the founders at the risk of losing our democracy.

We have a government of laws, not of individuals, or corporations, or of lobbyists. To preserve our system we need an educated and informed electorate, which suggests that we need not only a good educational system but also media reform so that voters can follow what is actually happening in the legislature and elsewhere in government. Otherwise voting has no significance.

As a pro-life Democrat, I believe we need a respect for life across the age spectrum, so that protection exists not only for the unborn, but for all children, adults and the aged who are vulnerable. This includes a social safety net.

Because American businesses can no longer compete globally and still provide health care for employees, it is appropriate that "we the people" step in and ensure that all citizens can obtain adequate and affordable medical insurance. Patients should not continue to die for lack of insurance.

Above all my political philosophy espouses the practice of ethics in government, by all participants.
