1. What are the two most pressing issues you will face if you are elected? (50 word limit)
Lowering the cost of college tuition and reducing the number of uninsured Ohioans will be the two most pressing issues during my term.2. How will you address each of those issues? (100 word limit)
We must maintain the current freeze on college tuition rates and assess funding and spending problems at our public institutions. Education should be our primary concern over campus beautification. We must create the opportunity for Ohioans to buy into the same healthcare plan as State Employees do, thus lowering costs with group rates and making it affordable for every employed Ohioan to have great healthcare.3. What role should the state play in updating Ohio's aging infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and transit services and equipment, in order to promote economic revitalization? (100 word limit)
Infrastructure is the key to growth in Ohio. Without good infrastructure we cannot attract new businesses and grow current ones and thus the State must continue to improve our roads, bridges, and transit services. If we fail in this test, the working people of Ohio will pay the price with fewer jobs and lower incomes.4. What role do state legislators have in reforming health care in the U.S.? (100 word limit)
While the State of Ohio may or may not be able to create a Universal Healthcare System, we can afford other good solutions. By creating more tax incentives for employers to cover their employees and by offering large 'group' plans to our small businesses we can lower the number of uninsured Ohioans. More information on my healthcare plan that would cover employees in Ohio can be found on my website.
