Candidate for
Board of Directors; Crescenta Valley County Water District

I take great pride in being part of this truly wonderful community. My wife, Danette, and I have lived in La Crescenta since 1971 and raised our three now-grown children here (Deana, Karl and Kraig).

Over the years, and because of my family, I have been active in local schools, our church, the Town Council and other organizations. And, in the Boy Scout program where I am on the Verdugo Hills Council executive board, I have served as the Foothill District Chairman, Troop 319 Scoutmaster and Pack 302 Cubmaster. Now I feel that my services will be best utilized by the Crescenta Valley Water District as it strives to tackle the ongoing issues of water conservation, efficiency and cost reduction.

My background is in engineering, with a heavy emphasis on project management, and my education consists of a BSEE from University of Illinois and an MBA from University of Redlands. Together, my career and academic history offer me the unique advantage of having both a technical and business mindset: something that I believe will be of extreme value to the Crescenta Valley Water District moving forward. Likewise, my current position as manager of the Galaxy Evolution Explorer project, an astrophysics mission at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory requires a thorough time and budget management capability. And my analytical skills, contract experience and years of interaction with government and businesses provide me a solid basis for making smart decisions.
