Candidate for
Board of Directors; Pico Water District

If elected I will work to...

• Create Inter-ties with City, County, State and Water Agencies - I will fight to establish water inter-ties (connections) to other water agencies to ensure water reliability within the Pico Water District service area for emergency purposes. Currently there are none!

• Establish Fair and Reasonable Water Rates - In 2010, the Board of Directors will consider another increase in water rates. If elected, I will fight to promote an aggressive water conservation program to avoid costly rate increases to our customers.

• Ensure Reliable Water Delivery - I will lobby on bringing available funding to the Pico Water District for necessary repairs to its water infrastructure.

• Enhance Accountability and Transparency of Water Management, Making sure reports are easy to read and understandable and include a "Right-to-Know" report that provides citizens with valuable information about the source(s) and quality of their drinking water in simple terms.

• Improve the Pico Water District Website to include programs, projects, Board of Director minutes, and any other pertinent information as well as the ability for customers to pay their bills on line.

• Promote Good Communication with all Board Members and General Manager. Follow the Rules of Decorum and encourage meetings to be free of slanderous, insulting comments and threats. Support five minutes for public comments at Board meetings.

• Keep the Balance between Progress and Preservation of Our Most Precious Natural Resource.
