To be inclusive with all interested parties so to reach a compromise for the betterment of our students education.For years, the educational community has been telling parents and students that every child needs to go to college. However, not all students attend college for multiple reasons. Instead of attending a 4 year college, students can attend vocation schools as another avenue for pursuing a success career. Therefore, I look forward to having a new middle school to expose students to industrial arts and fine arts to prepare those student for a different career path than a 4 year college. Industrial arts and fine arts give students the ability to see how their other subjects like math, reading, writing and comprehension interact with the subject matters industrial arts and fine arts. All students need to be prepare for the future, not just an college future. Ever since Proposition 13, School Districts have been faced with financial challenges. You and I can't change the past, but you and I can change the future. We need to stop cutting programs / activities for students and provide programs that gave us adults our educational foundations and our cherished memories of schools / activities. Let's take what you and I have all appreciated in our school experience and provide those experiences to our students of today and tomorrow. We can accomplish these dreams even with the current fiscal conditions, by having open discussions and thinking out-side the box. As a district of approximately 2400 students, we can all find common ground and solutions, so that fiscal solvency will lead to a higher level of quality education. I was always taught by my parents that where there is a will, there is a way. I have the will, I just NEED YOUR VOTE, so together we can find the way. Please elect Charles J. (Chuck) Zelnik, Jr. |
