While we have not had any deaths, yet, there have been many reported around the United States. Most all of the "research" that is available has been done by the TASER company itself. Each death invariably brings a multimillion-dollar lawsuit.
I believe that the use of these "non-lethal" weapons is a ticking time-bomb, and while they afford certain protections to law enforcement personnel and the public
I'm not sure the risk to life is worth the gamble.
A countywide re-thinking would bring the latest developments to light and keep each department using the TASER informed of the dynamics, training and data available.
