Over 34 years of law enforcement experience Sheriff Sniff joined the Coachella Valley Police Department in 1975 Has held key assignments throughout Riverside County including the Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, Riverside and Southwest Riverside County Rose through ranks from deputy to sergeant, lieutenant, captain, chief deputy and assistant sheriff overseeing jail, court and patrol operations. Today, Sheriff Stan Sniff leads the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the 2nd largest Sheriff's Department in California A retired Colonel in the Army reserve, and served 30 years in a variety of military staff and command assignments in infantry, armor and cavalry units Priorities: Sheriff Stan Sniff has cut crime by 21% since taking office in 2007 and turned a $22.3 million budget deficit into a $5 million surplus. He has cut costly overtime, streamlned the office and put more officers on patrol to combat gangs, sexual predators and drug traffickers.
