Endorsements equate to being bought
Endorsements equate to "we like you so make sure you remember us if you are elected". That equates to a special interest alignment. That amounts to collusion since it possibly doesn't respect and represent the majority's wishes. I have personally known of organizations that have offered me their endorsement which I declined even before investigating their "benefit" to me. Some of these organizations have a very impressive name but are merely a test to determine if the candidate can be "bought". It may even be possible for a self serving politician to endorse all candidates in a race, giving each the illusion of endorsement and permission to list the endorser's name and position on the candidate's literature. This is deceiving to the voters who do not know the truth behind the endorsement.
For these reasons I do not seek endorsements.
