Council Member; City of Concord

Concord resident since January 1982

I have been married 40 years to Shirley. We have raised three wonderful children together.

I am a veteran of US Army where I served in the Army Security Agency holding a top secret security clearance working as an analyst in national intelligence while stationed in Germany. Upon receiving an honorable discharge at the end of my enlistment period, I relocated to southern California.

After being hired by IBM I was relocated to San Jose, and began a career that included direct sales, market and product planning, and various management assignments in those areas. My responsibilities included developing business opportunities for IBM and its customers.

As current chairman of the city's planning commission I have had the opportunity of reviewing new projects being proposed for our city. My participation on the planning commission has given me valuable insight into the activities of city government, as well as an understanding of the process of the development of new projects within the city.

I have served as scout master for two different scout troops, and have served on the executive board of two scout councils. I have worked as an advisor with many youth groups over the last 30 years.

After retiring, and having raised our family in Concord, we made the decision that this is where we wish to live. We feel the quality of life in our city makes this a great place to live, raise a family, and retire.
