Statement to the CommunityBy Marilyn B. BuchiCandidate for Board Member; Fullerton Joint Union High School District |
This information is provided by the candidate | |
Experience, Knowledge and a PromiseThe coming years will require highly ethical, strong and stable leadership to weather the State's fiscal storm and protect the extraordinary quality of our high schools. I have a track record of leadership that has governed these schools where our communities' children have choices of educational programs and school of attendance; where financial decisions are sound and protective of our tax dollars; where schools are safe places for teaching and learning; and where every student is important. I currently serve on the policy making body and as a past president of a statewide professional organization dedicated to support in such areas as governance training for school board members and education advocacy. Through this affiliation, I led the development of standards for school board members and consulted on executive hiring. Appointed by the State Superintendent of Schools, I serve on the Public Schools Accountability Act Advisory Committee and am Board President of the North Orange County ROP, the career-technical arm of our high school program. As a long-time resident of the community, parent of district graduates, PTA leader and a community volunteer, I am committed to making sure that our schools deliver the education that our community demands for its children. |
