COMMUNITY RESTORATIONBy Lisa TurnerCandidate for Trustee; San Joaquin Delta Community College District; Trustee Area 7 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We all must participate in the restoration of ourselves, our families, and our community. There is much work that needs to be done, and the old saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is very true. History shows that lack of participation in a unified effort does not build a cohesive community. Participation is required. The availability of education and information, and the ability to utilize it increases the potential of changed lives as well as community restoration. The primary barrier is the lack of education. I will establish a local representative working group. My aim will be to establish an educational climate that fosters innovation and creativity. This will increase our areas economic viability and lead to greater well-being of our citizens. I will participate in local, state and national cacuses to bring additional funding for education in San Joaquin. I am walking precincts and meeting my constituents and learning about their concerns and issues. . I will participate in the restoration of our community, with your vote on November 2, 2010.
