? 1. In this time of high unemployment, what are the most important steps that should be taken to improve our nation’s economy?

Answer from Erich D. Miller:

Cut federal spending, cut the size of government so as to minimize the regulation and taxation burdens on individuals, and the small to mid size businesses, refocus government resources on it's primary purpose, bring our military home, close oversees military bases, sell excess assets, begin to pay down the debt and live within balanced budgets.

? 2. How should federal budget priorities be changed, now and into the future? How will you balance the costs of military action overseas and national security with the costs of domestic needs?

Answer from Erich D. Miller:

We can no longer afford this type of governing. Our military missions are confused and wasteful. We must again focus on the defense of our freedoms while emphasizing trade with the world. Federal government must remain within the limits of the few powers we've given it in the Constitution so that we can pursue the life, liberty and happiness as we choose. I will propose, support and vote on legislation that gets federal politics out of social issues, keeping resources and control local. I will support the return of our military to its primary mission.

? 3. What, if anything, should be done by the federal government to address our dependence on fossil fuels or spur the use of clean energy?

Answer from Erich D. Miller:

Keep the bureaucrats out of the way. By emphasizing liability, demanding responsibility while allowing the dynamics and discipline of the market place of ideas and services to work out a non-political solution. The best solutions will be found outside D.C. I will defend us from allowing politicians to pick and choose the winners and losers of future energy production.

? 4. What, if any, changes should be made to current federal policies or programs that promote or provide health coverage for Americans?

Answer from Erich D. Miller:

The current policies only magnify the errors of the previous ones such as MedicareMedicaid which have increased costs and reduced services. We must end them and focus on sustainable longterm answers. Health Savings Accounts, tax free health spending, reliance on catastrophic policies owned by individuals, reforms to reverse the FDA, CDC, Dept. of Commerce oversight that reduces competition and increases costs, these and similar actions are necessary now. I will work to these ends to bring control into the hands of the consumer and a direct relationship of user with all care providers.

? 5. What, if any, changes should be made to federal rules on campaign financing or disclosure of political expenditures?

Answer from Erich D. Miller:

It's all about empowering the individual. Each voter should be free to contribute without limits to the candidate or cause of their choice. The FEC should simply supply information on contributions for those who disclose, while as informed consumers, voters should demand full disclosure from their candidates. No government mandate will ever be imposed that supports or creates political change. The bottom line it's up to us. We the People as voters must change and break our voting habits.
