I came to Berkeley in 1976 to attend UC, where I got my Baccalaureate in Chemistry. I have lived here ever since. In recent years, I earned the Baking and Pastry certificate from the California Culinary Academy, and I currently work as a confectioner in a small, family owned business.
I am now 52 years old, and a confirmed bachelor. I have never been married, and do not have any children. I am Japanese, a Buddhist, and also Samurai from my maternal grandmother.
To answer your next question, I am a total political neophyte. This is my first foray into the world of politics.
