John Martin's agenda is "More Classes." PCC has added more core Math and English Sections to expedite student success. PCC has recently received a full six year Accreditation and the Educational Master Plan will improve transfers to four year colleges. PCC's sustainability efforts have saved the college millions of dollars for instruction while winning numerous awards. PCC is on track to have zero carbon footprint within the next decade. John Martin continues to promote the expansion of PCC's Online Class offerings and technology upgrade plan. PCC is rated one of the top 50 Community Colleges in the Nation. The number of PCC students transferring to the University of California and California State University systems increased by 28.6 percent in the last five years. PCC has 60 academic courses of study and announced new degrees in sociology and psychology to enhance student opportunities. The PCC faculty includes over 250 PhDs, accessible to students in classes of usually no more than 35 or 40 students. PCC faculty ranks in the top of California Urban Community College Districts in the percentage of full-time faculty members. During John Martin's last term, PCC has completed a new Industrial Technology Building that is the center of 70 Career and Technology programs to get students into jobs. A visit to PCC reveals the determination of John Martin. "More Classes" is his goal. Priority registration for in district students has been implemented. John Martin has a track record of getting the job done! PCC students completed over 131,000 courses last year despite dramatic State funding reductions. |
