Eric Lucan is a Novato native committed to our city's future. He has a strong business background to help guide Novato through difficult economic times and the innovative ability to address complex issues from a fresh perspective. Currently, is a commissioner and past-chair of the Recreation, Cultural, and Community Services Commission for the City of Novato where he has provided important recommendations to the city council regarding community programs and services as well as capital improvement projects like the Hamilton Pool. As a part of the Leadership Novato Class of 2007, Eric spearheaded a grassroots campaign which raised over $15,000 to assist the city in rebuilding the gazebo at Pioneer Park. Eric is a strong believer in community service and has given much of his time to coaching sports, serving as a youth director to middle school and high school students, and volunteering with the Novato Police Department, and service as a board member for the Marin School of the Arts and the Novato Financing Authority. A graduate of Novato High School, Eric earned an MBA (summa cum laude) from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He currently works in the Marketing department for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants based out of San Francisco. Prior to that position he has worked as a small business consultant as well as a Marketing Manager for a quick service restaurant franchise with over $1 billion in sales. In 2006, Eric became a proud home owner in the President's area of Novato. His parents, John and Loretta Lucan, raised Eric in Novato and are still living here today. Eric and his wife Kiley, who works for the Nature Conservancy, were married in 2009 and are happy to call the City of Novato home. They are also fortunate to both work near each other in the city so they can commute together on the bus each day. |
