To bring Modesto into a more vibrant 21st Century economy. We must bring high quality employment to our city so that we can stop the "brain drain" of the best and brightest of our young people.

To bring city spending into balance and achieve sustainability. We can not afford more unwarranted utility rate increases, and we must directly confront the issue of public employee pensions, rather than handing off that "political hot potato" to the voters.

To improve public safety. This need is particularly urgent in the lower income neighborhoods that are being terrorized by gangs and drug dealers.
