I have taught pre-school and elementary school and directed a multi-service children's program. Pennsylvania Department of Education experience includes; Early Childhood Consultant, Program Advisor, Senior Program Advisor, Commissioner of Basic Education, and Executive Assistant to the Secretary of Education. I have been a member of the Pittsburgh School Board for twelve years and Board President for 5 years. I represent the District on the Council of Great City Schools and served as Chairperson of the Council's Board 2008-2009. Currently I am Co-chair of the Pennsylvania Governor's Early Learning Council.
