Candidate for
School Director; Radnor Township School District

After serving on the School Board for 4 years, I hope and trust there is little question about my philosophy. I believe we need to provide the best education possible at a responsible price to the taxpayers. We need to protect the programs and culture that make Radnor a great school district and we need to make sure we are spending every tax dollar as if it was our own. Meeting after meeting, decision after decision, I have taken my position seriously and have done my homework to make the most informed decisions on the community's behalf. I have worked hard with other Board members to find common goals and build consensus.

2008 and 2009 were very difficult years for this country and our community. Radnor is not immune to the hardships no matter where you live in the Township. The school district had to make some very difficult decisions but we didn't do so until we had all the facts. In the end, we found a way to improve efficiencies and bring down spending to a reasonably sustainable level.

Though the District is currently in good financial standing now, by 2015 we will find ourselves burdened with an enormous pension payment that is projected to leave the District with a $17million deficit. We need a School Board that will take the lead and go to Harrisburg to protect our District from legislation that stifles our independence and financial future.
