1. What experience related to city government would you bring to the City Council?
Answer from Jimmy Nguyen:
I would use my experience as a attorney and mediator, service as a City of San Jose recreation leader at Solari Community Center, and my experience as a member of the San Jose/Evergreen College $500 million bond oversight committee member to serve the residents of district 8 and the City of San Jose.
2. What concerns are of particular importance to the city and how would you address them?
Answer from Jimmy Nguyen:
The City needs to resolve the pension issue that is causing so much strife for the City, it's employees, and residents. I would seek a middle ground to find a reasonable resolution that the stakeholders can accept and avoid more wasteful law suits.
3. How would you balance the needs of the city as a whole with groups’ interests?
Answer from Jimmy Nguyen:
I would talk to all interested parties to understand their goals and then I would try to work out an option wherein the parties would have a reasonable solution.
