Political Philosophy for Alfreda Ann "Freda" Flint

Work Together to Get Ahead "All politics is local". Tip O'Neil said it and I believe it. Everything from the top down affects the local citizen. Jobs, taxes, fees, salaries, education opportunities, safety, a pleasant qualtiy of life, honoring history, caring for our families and friends, ethical behavior, all move us ahead in life. Every one of us has a different view of what happiness is, to me it is working for a common cause, a clean, safe, lovely environment where a family can prosper and set roots. Oroville needs more jobs and businesses, more involvement from citizens who will be welcomed and put into action. T City Council Members want to have enough of a budget to plan for and facilitate appropriate growth. Jobs should be good, interesting, pay enough to take care of the family and "set some aside". Health and safety should be a consideration and our quality of life could include things to do that are culturally satisfying, enjoyable and readily available. Let us work together to bring it together. The City Council is responsable for spending control, hiring appropriate personnel, making policy, coordinating department action, finding ways to enhance income, safety choices and more. They also should be cheerleaders for Oroville, appreciating what we have, developing more, and moving forward for growth. This is a complex job. I commit to do a good job as a Councilperson, work hard, study hard, accomplish much and love Oroville. |
