The cornerstone of my community activism revolves around social and political change that advances equality and social justice and changing the status quo.
My approach to government and public service is based on the concept of servant leadership, that is, being a servant first and foremost. I think public policy should serve the greater good while addressing in particular injustice, inequality and disparity of power. Government should provide resources to help people improve themselves, their family and their community. Government should take care of the public goods. Government has an indispensable role to play in bringing about common prosperity and necessarily involves social engineering that addresses race, class and gender stratification as they relate to systemic and structural inequity. Every one deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. To the extent that I am partisan, I am intent on being a steward for working people in the community.
