- Continue the transition that has been occuring over the past four years to maintain a balanced budget in a downturn economy
 - Maintain staffing of all four fire stations
 - Work to prevent firefighter layoffs through collaborative planning and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU-aka collective bargaining unit contract) adjustments
 - Continue to apply Technology to reduce costs
 - Continue to work with the League of Fire Boards to find regional cost savings
 - Continue to work through the County Emergency Medical transport Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) to maintain service levels and reduce costs and establish a balanced budget that does not further draw down reserve funds
