General PhilosophyBy John A. DobsonCandidate for Board Member; La Habra City School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My name is John Dobson and I have been a resident of La Habra for 46 years. My daughters attended La Habra schools and today are both elementary school teachers. Several of my grandchildren have attended our local schools. I was a math teacher for 14 years and a manufacturer's representative in industry for 22 years. I have been a La Habra substitute teacher since my retirement. I attended Stanford University, Cal State Los Angeles, and Cal State Fullerton. I have a BA in Government and a Masters in School Administration. I have been an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in La Habra for over 40 years. The recent conflicts in our local schools between administrators and teachers have concerned me. It is imperative to the education of our children that the lines of communication between teachers and administrators be opened. As a board member, I will work with parents, teachers, and administrators to bring peace and stability to our school district. I have a passion for education that I want to pass on to our children. With my teaching and business experience, I have the ability to do that. Please vote for me on November 6. |
