GLAD Position Current State of RLECWDBy Brent James DillsCandidate for Board Member; Rio Linda/Elverta Community Water District; 4 Year Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Why you should vote for GLADDid you know that 4 community members and concerned citizens are running as team for the 4 vacant positions on the Rio Linda Elverta Community Water District (RLECWD) board? I am running with three others, Paul Green, Matt Longo, Duane Anderson. We are calling ourselves the GLAD team which is an acronym made up by the initials of our 4 last names Green Longo Anderson and Dills. Paul Green has been on the Grant School Board. Matt Longo is a connected an community minded (little league, etc.) member of the Rio Linda community. Duane Anderson is currently serving on the Rio Linda/Elverta Park District Board. And I work for the California Department of Water Resources as a manager. If it is not already too late to save the ship, we are going to try to make change. We will be running against at least 3 past or current board members. We feel that they have had their chance and failed to get the job done and have been an embarrassment to our community. If you Google or You Tube the RLECWD you will see for yourself some of the unprofessional antics they display. All of us feel like something needs to be done about the current situation and we feel would be more successful and effective than the current board. That current board (and past several boards) have failed the customers by any performance measures you might use. We are running on platform that will require us to be more civil and professional and I believe we will be. We are already working as a team and focusing together on things which is more that the current board has ever done. In answering the question who should I vote elect for the RLECWD?-- We are asking the voters to please consider the following:
To change things for the better, the GLAD candidates should be elected. The GLAD board will be focusing on improving the performance of the district using tangible performance measures and not on bashing staff or citizens personally or undermining the board's efforts. The GLAD board will work together civilly and responsibly. No one should walk out of meetings as a political ploy to distract from or undermine the business of the board even if they do not agree with the majority. The GLAD board will oversee the completion of the new water plan. We would be very interested in talking with you sometime about our candidacy if you are interested.
