1. What experience related to city government would you bring to the City Council?
Answer from Barbara Spector:
I have been your Mayor, Vice-Mayor, Councilmember and Planning Commissioner. In those roles I helped establish the ordinances and General Plans that created the vision for our beautiful Town.
2. What concerns are of particular importance to the city and how would you address them?
Answer from Barbara Spector:
Many people have become concerned about development, schools, local businesses and traffic - concerns that extend from downtown to the North 40, a largely agricultural parcel of land adjacent to Lark Avenue. I chair an Advisory Committee of Los Gatos residents, business owners and public officials who are currently drafting a plan to guide how the North 40 can be developed. With your help I will continue my work on this critical project so that it complements - rather than compromises - our town and quality of life. We must get this project right.
3. How would you balance the needs of the city as a whole with groups’ interests?
Answer from Barbara Spector:
Understanding that change will occur, I have worked to apply our standards and ordinances with fairness and consistency to guide development while preserving the quality of life for future generations.
