Education and Qualifications:
Strong financial and education background; current member, Foothill-De Anza Board of Trustees, 9 years; President, twice; Chair, Foothill-De Anza, Audit and Finance Committee; former member, Board of Directors, Borel Private Bank; Vice President, Citibank; Vice President, J.P. Morgan; consultant, Palo Alto Housing Corporation; teacher, sixth grade, San Jose; university instructor and teacher of the deaf, Peace Corps; Stanford BA, MA; Palo Alto resident; married, two grown children.

Community Leadership: Board member and President, Foothill-De Anza Foundation, six years; Palo Alto City Councilmember, nine years, Mayor, Vice Mayor; Board member, League of Women Voters, YMCA of the Mid-Peninsula and Palo Alto Rotary; President, Committee for Green Foothills.

I provide experienced and dedicated leadership. I have focused on wisely balancing the budget, finding ways to provide outstanding educational services more efficiently; hiring the best chancellor and presidents for the colleges; leading a successful bond campaign to maintain and renovate District facilities; achieving the highest bond rating of any community college district in the State. With the many educational challenges on the horizon, I am already well prepared to continue this vital work. I ask for your vote.
