Modified Biography and Positions on Issues
Escondido has been the Morasco Family home since 1967. I graduated from Orange Glen High School (1974) then attended Palomar JC, BYU, CSU Northridge and UCLA. I served two years in South America as a missionary for our church, becoming fluent in Spanish. Upon my return I married my high-school sweetheart, Pam Marler. We have four children and 2 grandchildren, all residing locally. I have been in private practice as a physical therapist and a local business owner for nearly 30 years. I have also served in numerous callings and positions in our Church including being the ecclesiastic minister (Bishop) for our congregation for 6 years.

I was elected 3 times to the Escondido Union High School Board of Trustees, served on the Valley Center Planning Group, the East Valley (Business) Association, have been involved with the Boy Scouts for several decades and am an active Rotarian.

In the 2 years that I have been honored to serve you as a City Councilman, I have been instrumental in balancing the budget, recovering our depleted City reserves and bringing pension reform to the City. I am a strong advocate of public safety including Police DUI / Safety checkpoints, elimination of graffiti, a fortified anti-gang task force, government transparency and local government control. I am a proud fiscal and social conservative and a proven independent decision maker.

Please vote Mike Morasco for Escondido City Council!
