Full Biography for Lorraine Burton Eberhardt

For thirty-one years, I have had successful experience in teaching elementary and middle school students from various backgrounds in public, private and community environments. A large portion of my responsibilities included developing and implementing curricula in the arts and humanities. In addition, I provided District-wide professional development activities to teachers and administrators on the implementation of literacy and mathematics initiatives. I have worked closely with school-based administrators to ensure that all students are provided the opportunity to reach their highest potential academically, socially and emotionally. I was afforded the opportunity to engage in action research that led to the successful training of teachers and administrators on the implementation of classroom and school-wide behavior management systems. I also provided instructional support systems to assure the results expected in the District's Strategic Plan. It was my responsibility and privilege to systematically provide technical assistance to teachers, parents, and other community members to create interactive learning environments which promoted high academic standards and expectations of District initiatives, especially in the areas of Literacy, Science and Mathematics. I was also commissioned to model and guide the implementation of research-based best practices across all content areas in an effort to prepare all students to become productive, competitive citizens prepared to extend their education beyond high school by having knowledge of content and research data to guide high performance leading and learning. |
