Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Hawthorne Elementary School District

As the incumbent, I have had the pleasure of serving the Hawthorne School District these past four years.

I began as clerk, became vice-president and am now serving as President of the board.

In addition to my duties in Hawthorne, I have been able to represent the district abroad and bring a sense of pride to Hawthorne as well keeping the district up to date on State wide issues as it pertains to education.

Some of these organizations include:
-Director, LA County School Trustees Association
-Delegate, California School Board Association-present

I also serve as:
-Chairman of the District Advisory Council
-President of Hawthorne Math and Science Academy Parent Association
-School Site Representative
-District Chess Coach

In addition to these official positions, I have served on a number of committees and have played a key role in negotiating issues that affect the district such as:
-Health benefits
-Parcel tax/LCFA
-Wiseburn unification-limiting district permits and increasing enrollment for Hawthorne
-workshops for goal setting and district priorities and policies
