Candidate for
Council Member; City of Novato

My name is Denise Athas and I have served on the council since 2009 and served as Mayor last year. I am also a 24 year Real Estate Broker and own my own company located on Grant Ave. in Downtown Novato. I am re-running for City Council because I am not done. I want to be part of Novato's future and help it be everything it has the potential to become. I have honored my Open Door Policy and met with students, seniors, business owners and anyone who has suggestions or issues. I listen and always do my best to help and follow-up.

My past history of being President of the Chamber of Commerce and 2 years as President of the Downtown Novato Business Association help me understand the needs of many. Currently I serve on the Board of the Marin Energy Authority, am on the Exec Board and also serve as Treasurer. I also serve on the CDBG (community development block grant) Priority Setting Committee as well as several ad hoc groups and serve on the Executive Committee of the NorthBay Division of the League of California Cities.
