Candidate for
Board Member; Dixie School District

I have had a lifelong involvement with children, as a mother, grandmother, teacher and family therapist and, like many of us, I bought a home here in 1984, attracted by the high quality of education in the Dixie School District.

Now that we're seeing some changes in our district, with seniors moving out and younger families moving in with children, I want to focus on sustainable long-term planning. It is vital that the board sets the direction to maintain and, if necessary, expand our excellent Dixie School District.

Serving as president and director of my local homeowners' association for more than 15 years, I have always sought to achieve fair and financially prudent management decisions over the issues we face. I will bring that same sense of balance to the Dixie School Board. I will work closely with our families, children, teachers and administration, as well as the wider community, to achieve the highest level of educational standards.

• Support our teachers to implement the Common Core Curriculum and maintain their high level of achievement
• Manage district funds to achieve the maximum educational value
• Keep school board looking to the future while managing the present
• Be a strong advocate for public education and fiscal accountability
• Respect and solicit advice from teachers and administrators
• Support active parent and community involvement
