Candidate for
Council Member; Town of Corte Madera

I am currently serving on our Corte Madera Town Council and am a resident of the Bayside. Prior to being elected to the Town Council, I served on our Planning Commission and had just started serving my second term when I was elected to the Council. I would very much like to continue serving you and our Town on the Town Council. With my experience as a Councilmember and former Planning Commissioner, I will continue to provide you with dedicated leadership. As in the past, I will serve you with integrity and a keen knowledge of our Corte Madera community.

We are all aware that these have been economically challenging times and the Council worked together to make thoughtful and difficult decisions to minimize the effects of the economic downturn. I am knowledgeable of our Town's finances and the impacts the State has on them. I've been relentless in protecting our local revenues and am proud of my record for being fiscally prudent by prioritizing capital expenditures that maintain and improve the Town's infrastructure and ensure optimal life safety services.

During my tenure on the Council I have advocated for improvements to the Bayside trail, safe routes to school, well-maintained bicycle and pedestrian paths and town-sponsored programs for all ages. I introduced a complaint-driven blight ordinance which has been implemented, in order to ensure the health and safety in our neighborhoods. I keep apprised of the legislation that directly impacts our town and have actively raised awareness and supported or opposed such legislation.

I am committed to preserving our natural resources; supporting sustainability through long range planning; and encouraging quality improvements of residential and commercial property while protecting the views, light and privacy of neighboring properties.

I have proven experience working congenially with our residents, Town staff and business community to establish policy and preserve the character and quality of life we cherish in Corte Madera. I care about Corte Madera and it would be an honor and a privilege to continue serving you.
