Candidate for
Council Member; City of San Carlos

As a former Councilmember and Mayor (2001 to 2007). I am a proven and experienced leader with a track record of sound decision-making. My campaign for public office couples my desire to serve my community with the need to bring long-term strategic planning back to San Carlos.

My highest priority, if elected, is to make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family. I support bringing new businesses into our town, adding revenue to our city, and bringing economic stimulus and synergy that will optimize sales tax revenues. I will work to create progressive, visionary and sustainable programs that ensure our continued high quality of life for people of all ages. I will collaborate with the School Districts to meet the needs of our youth, and will seek to improve the quality of life for our maturing residents. I am committed to working with our neighboring cities and the county to develop countywide solutions to the worsening traffic problems and affordable housing issues.

I believe that my previous experience on the San Carlos City Council provide me with not only the experience but also the leadership to be able to successfully pull the city to city Council together and to create a shared vision and understanding of where San Carlos should be headed for the next four years. I feel that my focus on strategic planning, affordable housing, and countywide collaboration set me apart from the other candidates in this election. As a lifelong resident of San Carlos who has raised my family here, I understand what a special place the Bay Area is and will continue to be with experienced and caring leadership. I've made it a priority to be involved in my community, and worked to make San Carlos a better place to live, work and play.

As a council member, I served on the Office of Emergency Services committee, 2+2 (the School Board and City Council joint committee), and was a founding member of the San Mateo County housing endowment committee (now known as HEART.) In addition, I co-authored the originally adopted Code of Ethics for the San Carlos City Council.
