UNIQUE AND BROAD UNDERSTANDING OF TOWNSHIP GOVERNMENT

Those changes have helped reduce or eliminate several expenses to the General Fund. I am continuing to handle the day-to-day financial responsibilities of the Fiscal Officer, which means that I am in the Township Office on a regular basis, processing payments and receipts, as well as preparing payroll and other related reports.

The bottom line is that I continue to remain fully aware of the important financial operations within and throughout the Township's structure. My participation is, indeed, a unique opportunity for the Township and its residents.

Over the years, I have attended all Trustees meetings, served as Secretary to the Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals and was the recording secretary for various committees - Land Use, Safety, and Finance & Audit. As a result, I have gained a very broad-based understanding of how township government works - including its responsibility to the residents.

Throughout my life, I've been a "roll up your sleeves and get the job done" kind of person I was responsible for the computerizing of the accounting and cemetery records. I played an integral role in the development of the Township Zoning resolution, and worked for the establishment of the Symmes Historical Society. My recent service highlights include the planning of the dedication of the Home of the Brave Park in 2012, and the flag display at the 2013 Memorial Day ceremony. It was my vision that each veteran interred at our cemeteries would be honored with an individual American flag at that event.
