1. As the demographics change in your township, how do you plan to provide for basic services?

Answer from Michelle H. (Haris) Kichline:
As a Township Supervisor, and someone who has lived most of my life in Tredyffrin Township, I have seen firsthand the changing demographics of our local community. Of course, these demographic changes do not effect the goals of the Board of Supervisors: to maintain and improve the quality of life in our Township while being fiscally responsible for all residents.
As a Supervisor, I am proud to say we are doing just that by:
1)maintaining one of the lowest tax rates among neighboring municipalities;
2)renewing our AAA bond rating through fiscal discipline;
3) fully funding our pension fund to avoid a future crisis;
4) delivering strong public safety services that have helped reduce our serious crime rate by 27%;
5)making our township more accessible for businesses and the jobs they provide; improving a strong park system;
6)continuing to shephard important projects like the Paoli Transit Center on a path to completion, and much more. Results like these are good for all residents- regardless of demographic changes- and will keep Tredyffrin strong for everyone who lives here.
Answer from Murph Wysocki:
Tredyffrin supervisors must exercise sound fiscal management to ensure that basic township services are effectively provided . They must lead the effort to bring economic revitalization to the township's commercial areas including Paoli, the Chesterbrook Village Center, and dated office parks. Economic vitality means a broader tax base, tax stability, and enhanced property values benefitting all Tredyffrin taxpayers. Supervisors need to think creatively about public/private partnerships, grants, pooled purchasing and other ideas to meet current and future funding challenges.
