Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Arcadia

I was born in Taiwan and spent much of my youth there as the country developed with the help of of our American friends. My family moved to Okinawa when I was 15 and it was there that I learned to speak Japanese. When I was 18 my family moved again, this time settling in Alhambra. I graduated from Alhambra High School and went on to receive a B.S. degree from California State University, Los Angeles.

Due to the sudden passing of my father, I started my own business at 19 in order to help support my family. I have since owned and operated several businesses. I also graduated from the Rio Hondo Police Academy and served as an Alhambra PD reserve.

I settled in Arcadia in 1984 and as I got married and had children, my wife Sherry and I never thought of leaving this city that we love. Our two children, Sloane and Sharlotte, were both born at Arcadia Methodist Hospital. Both of our children are graduates of the Arcadia public school system including Arcadia High School. For the past 27 years my family and I have made many friends in this city and we continue to enjoy the life we've made here. As my children have grown into adulthood and with my business established, I now have the opportunity to devote my time in service of our community. Running for council is just the latest in a long record of public service that I have pursued with charitable organizations and service organizations in Arcadia over the last decade:

I believe that my 30 years of business experience and involvement in law enforcement give me the unique ability to make a difference in our city. Volunteering alongside some of Arcadia's finest citizens has also been a truly educational and uplifting experience for me, one that I think has prepared me for the city council. My life experience of working with, befriending, and understanding people from different cultures in two continents and three countries will also be a unique asset as we seek to bring all the diverse communities that make up Arcadia under one roof of Arcadian-Americans. For the past 11 years I have been using my business knowledge and experience to plan events, assist in fundraising events, decrease expenditures, and promote growth in many organizations like the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Boy Scouts.
