Treating individuals as an end, and never as a means to an end guarantees that everyone that walks into my courtroom will be treated with dignity and respect and will have the opportunity to be heard. A person's gender, ethnicity or financial status should not dictate a result that is more or less than what is otherwise warranted. However, an knowledgeable and experienced judicial officer should also know when a deviation is necessary to ensure justice occurs.
