WaterBy Clay RomeroCandidate for Supervisor; County of Mendocino; Supervisorial District 3 | |

Clay responds to concerns of drought....I believe we need to develop more raw stocks of water in tanks, ponds, lakes, etc., to keep our own water tables from diminishing into mud. There are ordinances that prohibit people from having their own water tanks and regulations that require too much money and too much time. What good does an expensive environmental impact report do for dredging a lake, when it is not known exactly when the lake will be dry enough for dredging? There are times when we must act on time to safeguard water supplies. It is no longer good enough to allow valuable water to run off the hills and into the ocean. Farmers, especially require water as a base from which to continue growing and raising food. Water is the lifeblood of any society. |
